Somebody call the Vet!
Wow - what started as a bad cold thing last Friday has turned into something really scary around here.
I took the baby and the 2yo to the Pediatrician today - but I think maybe I should have taken ALL of them. They are all really sick.
The baby has RSV [the doctor thinks all of them have RSV] and she can barely breathe and is running a fever of 103-104 and is totally listless. She's on albuterol and predinisonol [sp?].
The 2yo had RSV that has now turned into Pneumonia. [She's been coughing till she throws up]. She's on an antibiotic and albuterol.
I didn't take the older 3 because I thought they were on the mend, but they have gotten progressively worse as the day goes on and 2 of the 3 are running fevers now and they are all coughing themselves half to death. [My house sounds like a TB ward right now!] I'm going to take them all in tomorrow to determine if any of them have pneumonia.
And my husband has the same thing and he sounds like his may be moving to pneumonia or bronchitis at the least. He has an appt with his doctor tomorrow am.
By the Grace of God, I am healthy. I feel like I've been "fighting" it all week, but so far I am winning. Which is good because somebody has to take care of all these poor sick people!
Please say a prayer for them, especially the baby who I am considering taking up to the hospital tonight if she doesn't get better soon and the 2yo who has pneumonia....

Breathing illnesses are NOT fun when ONE child is suffering...but ALL of them? We have used the nebulizer for when they get RSV before and it worked to keep them out of the hospital, but it's a precarious situation and not to be taken lightly, that's for sure! I'll say a prayer at adoration (at midnight in 1/2 an hour!) for your family.
I'll pray for a swift recovery! And that you stay well.
For some odd reason last year the darlings and I got a new strain of Whooping Cough. The coughing until they vomited was awful. I had it for a few weeks before the kiddos got it. I just kept on doing the housework routine until I pretty much couldn't. Please take care of yourself so you can take care of the Monkeys!
Consider going to the Feast Day of St. Blase this year. It's in February (Blessing of the Throats) I wish I knew which Saint was in charge of lungs and lung disorders and diseases.
You and your monkeys and the Monkey Daddy are in our prayers.
