Yesterday afternoon Baby Monkey woke up from her nap running a fever again and being really listless and a bit scary [for mom :) ]. She had been fever free for 24 hours and seemed worse than the day before, so I called the Pediatrician and they had me come in.
She has an ear infection [which I expected, for whatever reason she and Monkey4 are really prone to them - despite never having formula in their lives. :( ]. The doctor also thought she "might" have "low grade pneumonia" but said he couldn't be sure. Which seemed kind of strange to me [this was not our regular ped but the guy "on call" for walk ins - he's a much older gentleman and while he is nice, I feel more comfortable with our regular ped!]. He put her on antibiotics for the ear infection and said they would take care of the pneumonia too if that was indeed going on.
Now this morning, just 12 hours after taking her antibiotics for the first time, she is a different baby - happy and active and seems to be doing well. She actually slept last night too, which was a blessing for both of us!
I woke up this morning in severe pain though - I woke up feeling like I was in transition with back labor - never a good thing LOL! Something is wrong with my left kidney and I'm going in to see my doctor at 2pm. I suspect either a severe kidney infection or a big stone... guess we'll see.
This is *just* what I needed today with a house full of sick kids AND [of course] I am teaching a weekendeder Lamaze Class - 20 hours starting tonight and ending tomorrow evening! That will be fun.
I hope she at least gives me something to control the pain or I have no idea how I'll manage it! I took two Aleve early this morning and that took the edge off enough that I could stop crawling the walls and bawling, but it still hurts pretty bad!
This has been quite some week. Thank God the baby seems better this morning though - ALL the kids seem to be on the mend today and so does their dad. Whew. :)
