Sick Monkey Update

The 4 older kids are all doing better now. I took them all to the Ped yesterday and she said the 3 older kids look like they are getting better - she said they had RSV but are now getting over it. That's good news. :) The 2yo is doing MUCH better after taking antibiotics for 3 days so far for her pneumonia.

The baby is the only one I'm still worried about. She's still pretty sick, running a fever off and on, and just miserable and kind of listless most of the time. She IS nursing well, which is putting my mind more at ease. Hopefully in a day or two she'll start to turn the corner.

The Monkey's Daddy went to his doctor yesterday too and he also has RSV but his has morphed into viral bronchitis. His air passages were so bad that the doc gave him a steroid shot right there in her office because his oxygen levels in his blood were so low. He's not feeling well at all either.

Here is a picture of Monkey1 holding our sick, listless Monkey5 [Baby Monkey!]:

This is what the Baby Monkey looked like just a few days ago when she was modeling her "First" pair of Levis and some shades and hadn't gotten sick yet:

[I much prefer happy, active baby to sick, listless baby, don't you?!]

And this is the part of the blog post where I share that my 2yo [Monkey4] now has enough hair to go into "real" pigtails! This is an exciting rite of passage at our house. :) [Mostly because they are more or less bald the first 2 years of their lives!]

Here she is modeling her new pigtails:

And then Monkey3 4yo asked me to please make her hair into "reindeer ears". Well... I wasn't exactly sure how to do that [originally she wanted the pigtails to stick straight up like antlers and we had to compromise on reindeer ears instead!] So, this is what we came up with and she was adorable, whether they really looked anything like any part of a reindeer or not:

Here they are riding around on one of the little trikes we have. Notice the sick pneumonia plagued 2yo crying in the background! It wasn't that they wouldn't give her a turn, it was that they wouldn't all get off and give it over to her completely!

So, that's the update from our sick ward. I am hopeful that they will ALL be on the mend soon. Thank you all for your prayers!

My darlings and I will pray for the return of health to the Monkey House!

Keep yourself hydrated now and do something good for yourself when the monkeys are all better. I don't know - a warm bubble bath? What ever you like! (I'm partial to smoothies.)

God Bless You Monkey Mama!
